Organic Amaltas Powder (Cassia Fistula)
Amaltas is also known as Aragvadha, it is a Sanskrit word which defines as the elimination of diseases from the body. It consists of pulp obtained from fruits of Cassia fistula. Amaltas is a moderate-sized deciduous tree, commonly found throughout India as a wild or cultivated plant. Fruits of amaltas are collected when they are ripe and have cylindrical pods, brownish-black. having 30 to 45 cm long and 3 to 4 cm in diameter. The tree grows up to 20 feet to 35 feet with a straight trunk and its bark is greenish-grey when young, slightly reddish, and rough when old.
The Pharmacological action of Organic Amaltas powder is Anti-inflammatory, Antipyretic, Analgesic, Antiviral, Antibacterial, Antifungal, Hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, and antioxidant.
Each part of the Amaltas plant has therapeutic as well as curative value and is well explained in the Ayurvedic texts. The fruit pulp is mainly used for healing wounds. The leaves are used for the preparation of medicinal poultice, ointments, and creams. The bark is rich with potent astringent-like properties and is used for relieving acute to chronic inflammatory conditions, whereas the wood is highly durable and used in the manufacturing and furniture industries.

Chemical Constituents of Amaltas (Cassia Fistula):
Amlatas contains mucilage, pectin, and anthraquinone, and the pulp of the pod contains glycosides, sennosides A and B, rhein and its glucoside, barbaloin, Rheinglucoside, Emodin, Chrysophanic Acid, Phlobaphenes, Fistuacacidin, Lupeol, and Sterols like Beta-Sitosterol, and Hexacosanol.
