Agnitundi Vati – Ayurvedic Classical Medicine:
Agnitundi Vati is a traditional Ayurvedic formulation used to help in weak digestion and help in strengthening the digestive capability of intestines. This is purely a herbal formulation containing many aromatic, carminative, digestive herbs that reduce gas formation, indigestion, and help in the natural digestive process. This is purely a herbal remedy to improve digestion. It helps restore proper digestion by stimulating the release of digestive juices through the liver, pancreases and small intestine.
It is antispasmodic, carminative and digestive. Agnitundi Vati is purely a herbal formulation containing spices, condiments, herbs, salts, etc. The ingredients of Agnitundi are also used separately for abdominal colics; diseases caused by an imbalance of Air element (Vata Element) in the body. Usually, a Vata imbalance causes abdominal colics, nervousness, constipation, dryness, indigestion, gas formation, thus Agnitundi Vati is useful in all these conditions.
Ingredients of Agnitundi Vati:
Kajjali ( Black sulfide of mercury), Sudh vatsanabha ( Aconitum ferox), Ajwain ( Trachyspermum Ammi), Harad ( Terminalia chebula), Bahera (Terminalia bellerica), Amla ( Emblica Officinalis), Sajjikshar, Yavakshar, Chitrakmool ( Plumbago zeylanicum), Saindhav Lavan ( Rock salt), Survarchal lavan (Black salt), Samudra Lavan( Sea salt), Shavet jiraka( Cuminum cyminum), Vidanga( Emblica ribes), Shunthi( Zingiber Officinalis), Pippali (Piper longum), Marich ( Piper nigrum), Sudh kuchla ( Strychnos nuxvomica).
Uses of Agnitundi Vati:
- Kajjali: It is a restorative useful for all three Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), and is especially good for increasing shukradhatu.
- Sudh Vatsanabh:This herb is hot in potency, and it works to stimulate the digestive system. It also helps to improve nourishment in the human body.
- Ajwain: The active principles in the ajwain may help increase the digestive function of the intestinal tract by facilitating the release of gut juices (gastro-intestinal secretions).
- Harad: It improves digestion strength and good for eyes, improves vision. It has anti-aging, rejuvenating activity.
- Bahera: It is a rejuvenating and laxative. Balearic helps in loss of appetite, & flatulence.
- Amla: Amla reduces the gastric problems as it has anti-inflammatory properties and works as an antidote for the upset stomach. It cures acidity if taken empty stomach.
- Chitrak mool: It is used as carminative, digestive, & useful in hemorrhoids. It has anti-inflammatory, and anti-colic activity.
- Shavet jiraka: It helps in enhancing appetite and helps indigestion.
- Vidanga: It relieves constipation, pain, indigestion, weak digestion.
- Shunthi: This extremely beneficial herb is used to relieve patients suffering from dyspepsia, flatulence, vomiting, spasms, colic and other stomach problems.
- Pippali: It improves digestion strength, anti-aging, rejuvenating property.
- Marich: It is used in flatulence, indigestion, dysentery, skin disorders, disorders of the liver, oliguria, common cold, cough, asthma, toothache, dental caries, night blindness, eye diseases, etc.
- Sudh kuchla: It promotes the appetite or assisting digestion.
Indications:
It is used as carminative and digestive, anti-flatulent. It is also useful in anorexia, dyspepsia, flatulence, pain in abdomen. It also checks polyuria & nocturnal emission.
Side Effect:
Agnitundi Vati contains purified and processed heavy metals and toxic material as ingredients, hence it should be strictly taken under Ayurvedic physician’s advice only.
It should not be used in pregnancy and children below the age of 7 Yrs.
It should not be taken for the long term.
It should not be used in the ulcer, ulcerative colitis and other inflammatory conditions of the digestive system.
It should not be recommended for patients with high blood pressure, and Pitta dominated conditions.
Dosage of Agnitundi Vati:
1 to 2 Tablets to be taken twice in a day with lukewarm water or as directed by the physician.
